During his journey the Atheist Turtle was exposed to hundreds of books and magazine articles, many written by scholars who claimed to be Christians and yet, their material often undermined Christianity and the Gospels.  The Turtle is dedicating this page to trustworthy authors and their work.

Richard Bauckham: Jesus and the Eyewitnesses - The Gospels as Eyewitness Testimony, 504 pages,

Bauckham makes the case that the Gospels are based on eyewitness testimony and are reliable.  I seldom post videos but in this case the material in them is incidental to a discussion of the book and is more informative of the general purpose of the book.  There are two videos.  Your choice of which to watch may be based on their length.
